Marketing on Kids

It is usual in Brazil to see the commercial in the television directed to kids.
There is one documentary that I saw and I thought it was just fantastic. It doesnt only goes for parents but also for people from all ages.
It is interesting that some things happens around us and we do not even realize.
Unfortunatelly, the documentary is found only in Portuguese.
There is a link where you do not need to make any download:

But you can also find downloads. The link if from the producer, don't worry about breaking any law.

Internship!Finally!

I figured out that the last post was negative, so I am going to put something positive, for the first time.
I finally got my internship, it is going to happen in the Københavns Kulturcenter, located in Nørrebro.
For those who do not know what Nørrebro is, it is a neighbourhood known for being a bit dangerous. Well, it was for some months ago. Some shootings happenned there.
I dont know the history of Nørrebro, but even though there are some "tough guys", going in bands, looking all like badasses, the neighbourhood looks lovely- mix of many people from different countries, shops out of the usual...I am glad that I am going to be 3 months in this environment.
Plus that the interview was great. The person who I am going to be learning from and working with was reaaallly nice, and so was the place. Therefore, I dont think it could be better. It was worth the try, and now I am looking foward to start it in August.
For those who want to have a peek on the place:

I dont get it...

By all mean I do not wish to be so negative in this blog. However, it is always when something is bothering me that I feel like writing. We could say it is not so "fun" when everything is so good. If I wrote that I had a nice day, the sun was shining, I wouldn't say the blog will become so much "interesting". Not that I think that many people read it. But for the few friends and relatives' sake, I will do it in a way that it is not a pain in the ass to read.
Anyway, I dont get it...
Once again, the Danes. Before anybody makes any misjudgement, I love this country and its people. As well as I do for those in Brazil and US, where I lived. But I do not think that it is bad to be critical about people/countries that you care about. Actually, it is better because you do not become an, what in Portuguese would be, "alienado".
So, what I was wondering were two little things:
1) The Little Mermaid, a symbol of Copenhagen (actually drawed in one of the most known tourism organisation) is going to China for an exposition. It will take 8 months and she will come back. Everybody happy. Chinese people would get to see some danish attractions, and we could also say that it would market the Danish tourism.
But there are some people who are not satisfied with that. Well, maybe those are the only which the media decides to show. They say that "taking" the Little Mermaid from Copenhagen will make the city lose its symbol and give a reason for the tourist not to come to Copenhagen.
First of all, I have never seen them so interested in the Little Mermaid. As far as I felt, nobody actually gives a s***. It is only something they see once, and show some visitors when they are going on a trip to Copenhagen. Besides that, it is nothing that they showed so much care about.
Second of all, Copenhagen has so many great things. And how would such small statue make a difference? People go there, take a picture and then go see something else.
Suddenly, some people got mad and said that it was wrong to take the Little Mermaid to China. Some even said that "what if we take the Eifel Tower and the Statue of Liberty". I got the idea, but the example was horrible.

2) The former prime-minister from Denmark is now NATO's general, or something like that. A post that is very important, by the way. The only thing is that I didnt hear so many good things about the prime-minister when he was in duty. How in the hell could then the people who were criticizing him be so interested in having him in NATO. Not that NATO and Denmark are the same, but if you don't think that a person is good in running a country, how could it be possible to be running an international military organisation?

I dont get it. The media criticized him, and then cheered when he was chosen to go to NATO.
The media shows mostly the people who are angry with the Little Mermaid "going away for 8 months".
The funny thing is that many people just repeat what the media says. They read their newspaper, and if it says that the prime minister is bad, they will say he is bad. If the media says that he is good, they will cheer for him.
Bla bla bla, all going to the same thing of the influence of the media on people... so well, what I got from my lesson is that, even though I might trust/love something/somebody, it does not mean that we cant be critical about it.

Thinking Green

From the website: uol.com.br

English: Authorities get ready to burn cigarretes seized in Weishi Country, Henan's province. Around 30 thousand of cigarretes packs, estimated cost of around 1,2 millions yuans (US$ 175 mil), have already been destroyed during the campaign against fake products.

China,always thinking of the environment.

Now in English :)

This blog now (at least as far as I am up to it) will be written in English. Why?Because I saw some friends trying to figure out what I was writing in my blog, and if you did not realize, they do not speak Portuguese.
As far as I know, people who follow my blog do know English...right?

Perhaps I judge it wrongly...

and I might be really wrong by doing it. But I was listening to the Brazilian radio that I used to listen when I was driving. It is news radio, and I really think it nice to hear (sometimes I need a break from the "music" from the usual radios).
Well, hearing something about a speech from our beloved Brazilian president, I had the "honour" to hear one of his metaphors. He said something like: " If you only put water in the pan and no ingredients, the water will evaporate when you put it to heat. Even though you might put a glass of water, the water will still evaporate."
I might be totally wrong, and sometimes be prejudicial about those things...but I do not trust the president to be poetic.Nor I do trust in a governor who used to be the Exterminator. I do not believe that a socialiate, daughter of the owner of a well-known hotels chain, can sing and act well.
I might be misjudging...right?

When thinking about cultural differences ...
it came to my mind the "crisis" that happened here in Denmark. All because one cartoonist thought it would be funny to "criticize" or "express his opinion" by doing some cartoons making fun of muslims. (By the way, muslims are arabs?Or is it the other way around?Sometimes I feel that both words are being used as synonims).
So it came to my mind that muslims do have some belifs that are different from the "western world". People may say that this "western world" beliefs are the civilized ones (even though people cheer when there is a new invasion to some "evil country"), but this is not the subject. The subject is that drawing pictures from the prophet for muslims is not well seen (I could see when I visited some mosques that there is no "images" inside) and this was actually really offensive.
I have seen some people here in Denmark defending the cartoonist (and the newspaper that made the drawings public), as there is "freedom of speech" in Denmark. So what I could do, and people should be proud of (as I am using my rights), is make some really offensive drawings about the Danes, Danish Royal Family and so on. I could tell them, who actually do not see the other side, that they are a bunch of savages.
I would not do so. People do have different opinions and we should respect them. We should respect not only people's opinions and rights, but also their beliefs.
The muslim reaction, at least some of them (the ones that were shown a lot in the news) might have been too far. Well, I wouldn't say it was unpredictable though. Think of part of the world seeing you as a terrorist because of a minority that makes some interpretations that lead to violence. But this is not exclusive for just one. Some other minorities from other religions do also interpret things in a way that contradicts their principles. If "love" is the message shown in their books, why are there so many people telling me I am going to hell and suffer?
This world is crazy. It is a shame that extremes are now getting so much attention. It is sad to see a political party that wants Denmark for Danes. This is my opinion. I hope I will not burn in hell, or be threatened. At least I have my right to express it,right?
